The Confidence Engine

Like all past financial bubbles, the AI bubble can be described as a "confidence engine": not supported by value-generating products and services, but overinflated by investors (over)confident that their investments will be rewarded in the end. Only time can tell how it will end this time.

The Confidence Engine puts you in the shoes of an AI start-up founder. Improve your AI, grow your company and achieve market dominance. And when that isn't enough for your greedy hands, influence the news, buy politicians and take over the world. How will the singularity judge your actions?

The Confidence Engine is being developed in-house and without external funding by a team of four: a game designer, a programmer, a visual artist and a sound designer.
The final game will be a paid release on several platforms, featuring 5 "stages": From your mom's attic, to start-up founder, to established company, and then onto buying elections and eventually releasing the AI "singularity".
The current demo features an in-development stage 1, and will also include stage 2. The full release will go up to stage 4, and after release we plan to add stage 5 as a free post-launch update, with several possible endings.
